Our Courses for September through till end of December 2008
Courses are held at our High Street premises in the fully equipped training room, which is situated above the shop. The stairs to the training room are located at the back our premises. Tea & coffee are provided but any materials required will be payable above the course cost unless otherwise indicated. With full day courses there will be a minimum of 45 minute break for lunch. Please feel free to bring your own, although there are a number of places nearby where you can buy a snack. Anyone attending our courses will be entitled to a 10% discount on selected items on the day.
All courses must be booked in advance with a non-returnable deposit of 10 pounds. Full payment is required a week before the course date. Places on all courses are strictly limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Beginners Patchwork & Quilting
Wednesday 3rd Sept 7pm till 9pm every 2 weeks for 8 meetings.
This is a course for beginners who wish to learn all the main aspects of patchwork & quilting. We will cover choice of fabrics & colour, the history of patchwork & also different methods of making and constructing a quilting. A fun course that leads to greater and bigger quilts.

Brother In-Store Promotion Event.
Friday September 5th and Saturday the 6th from 10:00am till 5:00pm.
Gill Rodgers from Brother-UK will be here to show you the range of sewing and embroidery machines. Come along and learn all the secrets straight from the expert. Also come and see the wonderfully clever software. Turn your artwork and photos into stitches.

BROTHER PE-Design ver 7 Embroidery Software
Friday 12th Sept 10:00am till 4:00pm
A Quick Start guide on how to use and get the best from the Brother PE-Design
software package. By the end of the course you will be able to create and
edit your own designs and embroider them out on your machine.

This is a day for those of you who have an embroidery machine and the software. We make a project using the software and the machine.

CRAZY Patchwork day.
Thursday 18th Sept 10:00 till 16:00
Make a lap quilt in a day with all your odds & ends of fabric.
Bring along your machine and your pile of bits & pieces. You will make a quilt using a very easy technique that will be enjoyed by beginners or the expert patchworker alike.

BROTHER Embroidery Day
25th Sept 10:00 to 16:00
Bring along your embroidery machine and loptop with PE-Design installed. We will design and make a bag using the software and sewing machine from scratch. A great way to get to know the software and machine better.

Simple Dressmaking for beginners
Thursday 2nd October for 6 weeks 2.30-4.30
Make a simple garment from a paper pattern. Wendy will help you select a
parttern and suitable fabric. You will be shown the correct way to layout,
mark and cut your pattern and fabric.

How to Make a Roman Blind
Thursday 2nd Oct 7pm till 9pm
Learn how to design measure and make a Roman Blind in just 2 hours. You will learn how to measure, and layout your blind making corners and inserting draw strings. A fun evening.

OVERLOCKER Project Day
Friday 17th from 10:00am till 4:30pm
Jan from Babylock will be with us!! she will teach you how to make a bag roll to keep all your overlock feet in [or anything else you would like to keep in a bag roll!!!] Bring your overlocker.

OVERLOCKER Foot Fetish Day.
Saturday 18th from 10:00am till 4:30pm
Jan will show you how to use all the different feet for you overlocker. How to sew beads and bindings and anything else you can challenge her with. Bring along your overlocker and any feet you already have. A good fun day.
